Wet Togetherness (incomplete)

From 2018 to 2025, I went through a confusing, sobering, and organic maturing process that required relentless confrontations with the underlying colonial logic that steered my ambitions, actions, money, identities, projects, relationships, and politics. I lived with the weight that I had failed in community. But the universe is a strict teacher with Kaleidoscopic tests. I have to learn to repair old conditions and take new tests.

I went through a Purge- of language, stagnancy, false friendships, dependencies, accolades, disappointments, resentments...ego deaths without assistance of any substances, but maybe with dance and music and films and journaling and new friends and new hobbies and new world order and traveling and sleep, and resonant encounters with the work of Poh Lin Lee, Iva Radivojević, Hannah Jayanti and Morgan Quaintance.

It is through this incomplete film, a renewed sensibility surfaced from the quiet fragments. My practice is split into a before and an after. It takes waves and ruptures to reorient the senses for oblique directions, which also resulted into a text co-written between Poh Lin Lee and I, which is reviewed by Preeti & Nagendra Kumar as, “the contributors present a multidimensional and poetic journey through care, connection, trauma and care departing from extractive ethnography. Their usage of digital QR codes and metaphors (such as sailing and oceans) exhibits an immense adherence to storytelling as decolonial praxis.”
